Sam Zell does not play games as a businessman, and he does not want to own the Chicago Cubs because their games business eludes him. Chicago is a wonderful national icon, said Sam Zell, who is poised to become chairman of Cubs owner Tribune Co. after it goes private. He said he was going to pass the risk on to somebody else.
