Chicago Fans’ Real Sorrow

Being a passionate Chicago fan, I hate reading posts making fun of the team about their 99-year record of losing. But making the simplest calculations it is tough to comprehend the sheer improbability of this futility. With thirty teams now in MLB, basic probability states that Chicago Cubs should win the WS at least once in every thirty years. So the chance of having won zero championships in 99 years is something too low, not to mention that the team has not even been to the World Series since 1945.
