Detroit Signs Closer Todd Jones, Acquires Outfielder Jacque Jones
The Tigers re-signed closer Jones and acquired outfielder Jones from the Cubs. Detroit agreed on a 1-year contract with Todd Jones, who will turn forty next spring, a day before he could have negotiated with any of the thirty MLB teams.
