Minnesota Acquires Outfielder Monroe from Chicago

The Twins acquired outfielder Craig Monroe from the Cubs yesterday in exchange for a player to be named later, the AL club announced on their official website. Craig Monroe, whose power bat helped the Tigers reach the WS in 2006, was traded last August by Detroit to Chicago in a dismal season, in which the player hit a combined .222 with eleven homers. The 30-year-old Craig Monroe belted 28 homers in the 2006 regular season and 5 more in postseason for Detroit.
