Kerry Wood made the switch to the bullpen last year after he had recovered from shoulder problems. Yesterday, Wood agreed to a $4.2 million, 1-year contract to return to the Cubs. The 1998 NL Rookie of the Year can make an additional $3.45 million in performance bonuses that are based on games finished. This year, Wood had a $1.75 million salary.
