Yankees left hander admits using HGH

The New York Yankees left hander Andy Pettitte has admitted that he had used human growth hormone during the 2004 season. This news was earlier pointed out by Brian Mc Namee in the Mitchell Report who claimed that the left hander had consumed HGH on more than two occasions. Pettitte has admitted to having two doses of injections in the 2002 season when he was recovering from injury and said that he had injected himself in 2004 just before his elbow surgery at the end of the season.

Pettitte in his affidavit claims that he had used two HGH on the same day due to the frustration he had to undergo for the injury that he sustained in the flexor tendon of his pitching arm. Pettitte needed a surgery to correct the problem and said that he had misjudged the enormity of the injury. Andy’s father had obtained the HGH for him without his knowledge in a bid to overcome Andy’s serious health problems. Pettitte says that he does not want to pull his father into this huge mess and sought to protect his father from public glare. Many former players and mangers came to the support of Andy Pettitte for admitting the use of performance enhancing drugs and appreciated his efforts in the field as a pitcher.
