De Rosa Treated for Irregular Heartbeat
Mark De Rosa, the infielder of the Chicago Cubs was admitted in a local hospital in Arizona, as he was suffering from Irregular Heart Beats during a drill session. The team officials said that it was only a precautionary measure and the player is stable. De Rosa had experienced increased heartbeat and trouble in breathing while he was on the field and fainted. The Cub’s manager Lou Piniella said he talked to De Rosa while he was having the problem and apart from being a little nervous he was perfectly well. De Rosa was accompanied by athletic trainer of the club Mark O’Neal.
Ryan Theriot said he has witnessed the EKG of De Rosa taken by the medical team of the Chicago Cubs and it was fine. Ryan is of opinion that almost all the players might have experienced it at least once in their life and is really a scary thing to happen. De Rosa was released from the hospital later and was sent home. De Rosa has already suffered some major health problems last year. He had sprained ligament, ocular migraine, partial loss of vision and tendinitis in hamstring but this time it is his heart and it is a bit too risky to be ignored.
