Ascanio Punched by an Offender

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jose Ascanio was attacked by an offender outside a convenience store in Scottsdale. Lou Pinella the Chicago Cubs manager explained that it was an attempt of robbery and Ascanio was got punched by the robber a few times when he informed the robber that he doesn’t have any money with him. Ascanio was omitted from Sunday’s work out and was sent to his home as he was having swelling in face and eyes. On Sunday Ascanio was seen in his street clothes when he arrived in the clubhouse of Cubs. Ascanio was actually taken as a reliever for this off - season from Atlanta Braves for Omar Infante and Will Ohman and his status was of day to day.

Team manager was amazed by the type of injuries his boys are having. Normally the players will suffer from groin injuries, hamstrings, shoulder or elbow injuries but the team members of Chicago Cubs are suffering from other abnormal type of injuries. In total the work out on this Sunday was an abbreviated one as the manager felt that the players have been working very hard through out this week and they needed some rest. The pitchers of the team will be given a throw day before the beginning of the games in Cactus League.
