Fukudome made to feel at home by the Cubs

The Japanese number one player, Kosuke Fukudome, is the first player to play for the Chicago Cubs in the Major League Baseball season and there are high hopes that he will be a reckoning force in the league this season. He will taste success in the United States only if he can easily adjust to the American style and his teammates are making sure that he gets acclimatized to their club and their lifestyles very soon. The Cubs have gone to the extent of hiring an interpreter as well as a trainer for Fukudome, to make him feel comfortable in the foreign land.
The Cub players are also in an effort to make him comfortable and have invited him to play some golf with them. Fukudome has said that he feels kike home at Chicago Cubs as the Cub players and the management are trying to speak to him in the Japanese language. Fukudome has been approached by many companies for endorsement of their products, but the Japanese player with four Gold Gloves is intended in being a good teammate first. He even holds his daily briefings of the spring training sessions to the Japanese reporters outside the club premises and is sure to make a mark this season, according to hitting Coach Gerald Perry.
