Kosuke Fukudome not bothered about the odds
Kosuke Fukudome, the Japanese right fielder who joined the Cubs recently is not bothered about the differences in play format as well as in rules between the Japanese and American baseball. Last year Daisuke Matzuka struggled in front of the baseball fanatics in Boston. The Cubs fans are notorious for their atrocious behavior when things go against them. The expectation of the fans from the Cubs is so high that they cannot forgive any lapse in the game. Carlos Zambrano, the ace pitcher tasted the vengeance of the Cubs fans due to poor performance in some matches.
Kosuke is signed by the Cubs for four years at a price of $48 million and at present Fukudome is in the ‘good book’ of the Cub fans. If he struggles in any point of his term with the Cubs, things won’t be easy for him. Daisuke is of opinion that Kosuke is not aware of the problems awaiting him. But, Chicago has another side which absolutely idolizes and supports their stars. The members of Bears who were the part of Super Bowl winning team of 1985 are still gaining money by projecting that achievement. Matsuzaka was a failure in adjusting to the American conditions but Ichrio was able to sustain. Kosuke is looking forward to play with Cubs as he thinks he can have fun.
