Piniella demands for better play
Lou Piniella, the manager of the Chicago Cubs, wants his team to play better than what they are doing now. He doesn’t want his team to lose even in exhibition matches as it is very difficult for him to digest defeat. Lou Piniella has turned the Cubs who gave the worst performance in national league in 2006 to a much better team last year and took them to record 85-77. His demanding nature has done the team good, whose members were more into Club houses than in the playing field. The team had lost in 10 of the 15 Cactus league Games and Piniella is not happy about it.
Piniella said they have not decided on how to tackle the hitters and has not tried players in different roles, but he doesn’t want all these to happen at the last week of spring training. He asked his players to start playing better and to get to the habit of winning games. Though they made a stunning play to win the NL central they failed to reach up to the expectations in the Post seasons play and was sent out in the first round by Arizona Diamondbacks. All that the Cubs have to do is to sharpen their abilities a little more and to play as a team.
