Cubs lose the series 1-2 to Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals gave Chicago Cubs manager Lou Piniella lot of things to think about as they claimed the series against the Cubs 2-1. Jason Marquis could not put the much needed brakes on Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols in the fourth innings and what this meant was that he allowed a total of five runs in 5 1/3 innings and the outcome of the match was that the Cardinals beat the Cubs 5-3.
Lou Piniella said that the team needs to bring in more focus into the game and should put in a lot more effort during the training sessions. Marquis said that he was totally dejected about the dismal showing in the game and has decided to redo all the basics right from the go. Piniella was of the opinion that Marquis has lost his throwing touch a wee bit and will said that some work has to be done on the pitching skills of the team.
