Cubs land Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin
The Chicago Cubs were able to land right handers Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin from the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday July 8th. In exchange the Cubs traded Sean Gallagher, Matt Murton, Eric Patterson and Josh Donaldson. Many Cubs fans believe Harden is a key peice of the puzzle and if he can stay healthy then nothing with stop the Cubs. Harden was 5-1 with a 3.42 ERA in 13 starts with Oakland this season with a DL stint back in April/May. Chad Gaudin was 5-3 with a 3.59 ERA in 26 appearances (6 of them being starts, the rest relief). Chicago is adding to a staff that already has pitchers that have been lights out this year, and the acquistions on Harden and Gaudin just very well be what the Cubs need to bring home a World Series Championship to the North Side of Chicago.
