Cardinals beat the Cubs by 12-3

The Chicago Cubs meekly succumbed to the pressure put in by the St. Louis Cardinals during their game on Saturday and the result was that the Cubs suffered a humiliating defeat of 12-3 at the hands of the Cardinals. The ace pitcher of the Cubs, Zambrano, was taken to task by the Cardinals hitters as he gave away nine runs in only 4 1/3 innings that included two towering home runs from the bat of Troy Glaus. The Cubs coach, Lou Piniella, said that it was one of those days for Zambrano when nothing went his way. The coach is sure that Zambrano will bounce back in the next game and the fans with tickets to the next game also vouched for a far better showing from Zambrano.
