Chicago Cubs easily defeated the Reds 5-0 at Wrigley Park in a stunning performance by pitcher Rich Harden. Harden tossed seven scoreless innings and struck out 10 batsmen. It marked his sixth career double digit strikeout game. He also scored the first run for the Cubs. It was simply the most sensational performance by him in the recent past. The Cubs batsmen still had some rough time in the field and looked disoriented. It was finally in the eight innings that the Cubs scored three runs. Harden contributed his performance to the fact that most of the players were new faces and had never played him before.
